RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Are you detail-oriented and tech savvy?

We need a research assistant to support and assist our evaluation team.

You will help complete multi-year studies to monitor and improve
large research and education projects at universities.

We are looking for team player to work on a wide variety of research and data-related tasks.

This is part-time work from your office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide quantitative and qualitative research support to evaluators

  • Help Edu team members to plan and manage tasks and projects

  • Create analytics reports to facilitate decision-making by evaluators

SKILLS

  • Data entry skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and web-based services

  • Analyze and interpret simple data sets

ABILITIES

  • Fluency in and ability to learn software and online services

  • Anticipate and solve problems

  • Communicate effectively via email and video conferencing

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In your role as research assistant, you will work in a small team of three to five consultants to provide general support to evaluators. This includes maintaining project timelines, updating dashboards, and creating analytics reports using the LiquidPlanner project management software.

You will support research and evaluation studies by preparing and assisting with interviews and focus groups, administering surveys, and performing data entry, as well as by conducting simple quantitative and qualitative analysis.  

Plan on doing web-based research and review of grey literature and academic publications. Experience in or the ability to quickly learn bibliometrics is helpful.

You will be encouraged to bring a critical eye to your work – always looking for ways to improve the status quo. Your feedback on the quality and efficiency of our evaluation protocols, methods, and processes will be highly valued.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • One to two years of experience in a research, library science, or similar role.

  • Post-secondary degree from an accredited institution. Graduate studies are preferred.

  • While a degree and/or certification is preferred Edu will consider equivalent experience that lets you demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the job.
